Live in the Turks & Caicos

Caicu Naniki (Kay-koo Nah-nee-kee) means “Island Reef Where the Festive Spirit Lives” in the language of the Taino Indians, the original inhabitants of the Turks & Caicos, and the first to greet Columbus on his arrival here in 1492. In the spirit of the people who once thrived here, we welcome you. Please scroll down to see our activities and tours.

Race for the Conch 2021

Swim or watch the next exciting Turks & Caicos “Race for the Conch” Eco-SeaSwim set for Saturday June 26, 2021–Eleventh Anniversary! This premier international open water swim event features 1/2 mile, 1 mile, and 2.4 mile races in the calm, clear waters of Grace Bay. The event attracts top swimmers out to win a conch trophy, as well as swimmers new to the sport looking for a benign venue. Organized by Caicu Naniki, the swim event has earned a reputation for excellent management and safety, as well as a welcoming environment that raises funds for local charities. The Daily News of Open Water Swimming calls it “One of the world’s most gorgeous swims.” For more information and registration, go to www.ecoseaswim.com. Fair Warning: You will be totally spoiled and return year after year.
Sadly, we had to cancel the “Race for the Conch” 2020 due to COVID. But we are ready to go on June 26, 2021 in the same beautiful waters of Grace Bay.

Race Day 2019 once again saw near perfect conditions with calm water and sunny, blue skies for the 9th annual “Race for the Conch” Eco-SeaSwim. 2.4 mile, 1/2 mile and 1 mile events. This time we held the race start and finish in front of the Royal West Indies Resort. After canceling in 2020, we are glad to be back in 2021 and will hold the race in front of Rickie’s Flamingo Cafe. Great reviews by all. Thanks!

This year also saw many returning swimmers from US and Canada-some for the 6th year in a row-along with teams from Barbados, Miami, Pennsylvania, and Maryland and individual swimmers from Trinidad and Brazil, along with a large contingent of Provo residents.
