Ben Stubenberg and Chloe Zimmermann founded Caicu Naniki in 2010 with the express goal of creating an exciting and hugely memorable experience for their guests in what they did best: Inter-island adventure excursions and swim training.

“We wanted to introduce to our guests best of the beautiful, undeveloped islands of North and Middle Caicos and Salt Cay. And we wanted to provide a unique opportunity for people to learn to swim in the ocean (or a pool) or train to get ready for an open water race event.” (Ben and Chloe are the founders of the annual “Race for the Conch” Eco-SeaSwim every June on Grace Bay.) “If our guests can be profoundly moved by an incredible sight or a surprising accomplishment, then we’ve done our job.”

The idea is to have incredible experiences while on a tropical beach vacation with friends and family–and come away knowing and understanding the fascinating history and unique peoples of the Turks & Caicos. Certainly, the world class white sand beaches, clear turquoise waters, and dozens of idyllic islands make for a perfect combination of exciting, challenging activities and kick-back, no worries relaxation. “With us, you also get a feel for the place through stories and people is so much more enriching.”

Ben and Chloe are committed to the economic development of the islands through small scale tourism that maximizes benefits to the local population with minimal environmental impact. They also work closely with the Turks & Caicos Islands Swim Federation to create Swim & Survive programs for local youngsters to prevent water tragedies and develop interest in the sport of swimming.

In 2013 they expanded by selling and renting stand-up paddle boards, for visitors and residents.

A very unique Northern Haiti was also added in 2013 to the excursion options because Ben and Chloe have over a dozen years experience taking groups to see the incredible sites in this most remarkable country. Here too, Caicu Naniki is committed to Haiti’s economic development through small scale tourism, notably working closely with an experienced, reliable local team who are fairly paid. All visitors return astounded and surprised by the beauty of the land and warmth of the people. It’s perfect for adventurers and anyone looking for really cool and exotic surprises. Provo is the ideal gateway to see Haiti.

Chloe and Ben have built a tested and island-savvy team which is dedicated to making this the best vacation ever for you. They know all of these islands and their activities exceptionally well and will ensure you return with a sense that you saw stunning places you did not know about or did something you didn´t think you could or would do, and are better for it.

In 2016, they put it all together to offer a Live in the Turks & Caicos consulting and advisory service for people who thought this might be a great place to buy and live here part or full time. With almost 50 years of combined experience living here and operating businesses, they know the lay of the land and can help people get a full picture of what it takes to live here.

“We take inspiration from the first inhabitants, the Taino Indians, who once lived and thrived in these island and were the first to greet Columbus when he arrived here (yes, here in the Turks & Caicos) in 1492. Hence our unusual and appropriate name for our company: Caicu Naniki, which means ‘Island reef where the festive spirit lives’ in the Taino language.”

Caicu Naniki Ltd. is licensed in T&C for tour operation business and makes responsible, safe travel its top priority.
